Indigo Katazome 2-day Workshop June 29th - 30th
2-day introductory workshop
This workshop, led by Chinatsu Nagamune, will cover the basics of the Japanese stencil and rice resist technique called Katazome. The class will start at 9:30am and continue until 4:00 in the afternoon each day. Participants will learn how to create their own textile stencils, apply them to fabrics, and dye them in a natural indigo vat.
All materials, including fabrics, indigo dyes, rice resist, and other necessary tools will be provided.
**This workshop is held in a rural setting with bugs, and uneven terrain. Please take this into consideration before making your reservation. We are happy to answer any additional questions by email.

PLEASE BRING:
An apron or piece of clothing you would be comfortable getting dirty or stained
Your lunch (drinks will be provided)
(Optional) An item t-shirt size or smaller made of natural fiber (light-weight cotton, linen, hemp, silk etc.) pre-washed without harsh chemical detergent (cannot be terrycloth/towel material) for dyeing in addition to the fabric we provide

No prior experience is necessary
Space is limited to 4 attendees maximum

In the event of severe inclement weather, we will either reschedule or provide a full refund. If you need to cancel, please do so 24 hours in advance. All cancelations will receive a full refund. Any cancellations within 24 hours cannot be refunded.
